Carne Asada "TACHOS"

What you'll need:

  • 1.5 lbs skirt steak

  • 2 tbsp lime juice

  • 4 garlic cloves ( minced)

  • 1/4 of a white onion (sliced)

  • handful of cilantro (chopped)

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp avocado oil

  • the juice of 1/2 an orange

  • 2 tsp chile powder

  • 1tsp each garlic powder , onion powder, oregano, smoked paprika

  • 1/2 tsp each of cumin and kosher salt

  • pepper jack cheese & medium cheddar ( freshly grated)

  • 1 30 oz bag of frozen tater rounds

  • Toppings: jalapeños , guacamole , pico de gallo, sour cream & cilantro


Directions:

  1. Place skirt steak in the freezer for about 15-20 mins so it easier to cut.

  2. Cut steak into bite sized pieces , and add them to a bowl. Add in the lime juice, garlic cloves, onion, cilantro, soy sauce , avocado oil, orange juice, and all the seasonings : chile powder , garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, smoked paprika, cumin & kosher salt.

  3. Mix everthing until well combined. Let it marinate for at least 1 hr.

  4. Preheat oven to 400

  5. To a large skillet add 1 tbsp oil on medium high heat. Once heated add in your meat and let that cook until the marinade has reduced. About 7-8 minutes or until desired doneness.

  6. Air fry your tater rounds @ 400 until super crispy and season with salt.

  7. To a baking sheet add a layer of tater rounds , your cheeses, and carne asada , and repeat process.

  8. Bake for 10-12 mins or until cheese has melted.

  9. Top with sour cream , pico de gallo, guacamole, jalapenos and cilantro & Enjoy.
