Smash Burger

What you’ll need:

*this makes 3 double smashed burgers*

  • 2 onions(diced)

  • 1.5 tbsp butter

  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20

  • Hamburger buns + mayo

  • Salt & pepper

  • American cheese



For the burger sauce:

  • 1/2 cup of mayo

  • 2 tbsp ketchup

  • 1 tbsp mustard

  • 2-3 tbsp dill pickles ( diced)

  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1/4 tsp sugar

  • 1t tsp pickle juice

  • Salt & pepper to taste



Directions:

  1. Add butter to a skillet on medium heat. Once butter melts add in your onions and a pinch of  salt . Sauté for about 10-12 mins.

  2. To a bowl combine mayo, ketchup , mustard, pickles, pickle juice, garlic powder ,smoked paprika, sugar , salt & pepper and mix well. Adjust seasonings if necessary.

  3. Form your beef into 2.5 oz balls.

  4. Add a thin layer of mayo to your burger buns and toast them.

  5. Heat your griddle or cast iron skillet on medium high heat for 2 mins.

  6. Place balls on griddle and smash as hard as you can & season with salt and pepper.

  7. Cook for 2 minutes & flip over.

  8. Add your cheese and add some of the sautéed onions. Once the cheese has melted assemble your burgers and enjoy.
