Smashed Meatball Burger

You HAVE to try this Smash Meatball burger Recipe

What you’ll need:

•1/2 lb of Italian sausage

•1/2 ground beef

•brioche buns

•1/3 cup of freshly grated parmigiano reggiano

•4-5 garlic cloves (I like to use a garlic press)

•1/3 cup of finely chopped onions

•1/4c fresh basil (you can also use parsley)

•1 egg

•1/3 cup of panko breadcrumbs

•a generous splash of heavy whipping cream or whole milk

•a large spoonful of basil and ricotta pesto (optional) the brand that I use is “Filippo Berrio”

seasoning i used : garlic & onion powder, Italian seasoning , salt & pepper ( measure with your heart)

•mozzarella cheese

•marinara sauce (I love @raoshomemade )

•garlic and herb butter or regular butter ( I love @kerrygoldusa garlic and herb butter)


Directions:

1. Add your meat,garlic, cheese, seasonings, basil,onions, egg, breadcrumbs, pesto & heavy whipping cream to a bowl. Mix until everything is evenly combined. Be careful not to over mix .

2. Shape your meat into balls & refrigerate for at least an hr.

3. To a skillet on medium high heat add avocado oil once hot add meatball and smash gently ( don’t smash too much because it may fall apart) cook for about 4 minutes.

4. Flip over and cook for about 1 minute, then add your marinara sauce and cheese & cover until the cheese has melted.

5. Add some garlic and herb butter to your buns & parm cheese. Bake in the oven at 350 until the bread is nice & toasty

6. Let’s build the burger: I like to add the basil and ricotta pesto to both buns ( you can also use regular pesto) add the meat, top with lots of fresh basil, add the top bun and brush with garlic and herb butter , top it off with parm cheese. Serve with a side of marinara sauce for dipping your burger & enjoy
